* A very small part of the Danish dental profession has chosen to step outside the established price frameworks for dental services. These dentists can set their own prices, but in return, the patient loses their subsidy from the public sector. A subsidy that for the relevant services (examinations, X-rays, teeth cleaning, etc.) constitutes an average of 20% of the bill. You can read more about this here: Danish Dental Association
When you are a student, money can sometimes be tight. Many therefore choose to deprioritize the dentist and thus neglect their teeth. However, it can be very risky to choose not to have your teeth examined. Likewise, not getting them treated if there is something that needs to be done. Small issues like a tiny cavity can grow larger over time. Large cavities can cause pain or the tooth can break. This can lead to the risk that the tooth needs root canal treatment or complete removal. Therefore, we recommend that after school dental care, you find a dentist and maintain contact with one. This is to avoid ending up in a situation with pain or larger and more expensive treatments. That is why we at Tandlægerne Classensgade have chosen to offer a special student discount of 15% specifically for you as a student. A discount that applies to all treatments, where the dentist can set their own prices, also known as free services.
As the legislation currently stands, only part of the services you receive from the dentist allows us to determine the price ourselves. The so-called fixed services are treatments or examinations where the government has decided that the price should be the same at all dentists*. Fixed services include regular check-ups, including any X-rays and teeth cleaning. Small fillings and simple tooth extractions are also fixed services, and therefore, we do not set the prices for them. One area that many patients are surprised to find is price-regulated is the treatment of periodontitis. Examination and cleaning of teeth in connection with periodontitis treatment is thus priced according to current legislation. However, we set the price ourselves when it comes to larger fillings, surgeries, implants, and treatments with crowns, bridges, or veneers.
